Soup and Sammie Night!

I've been eyeing up this recipe for Hot Pizza Sub in a Taste of Home magazine for months. Last night, Justin and I decided to have soup and sammie night. I made Hot Pizza Sub and also a Cheesy Potato Soup since the recipes were on the same page. We really enjoyed the Hot Pizza Sub! The Cheesy Potato Soup was just alright, I have another recipe that Justin prefers better, lol.

Hot Pizza Sub-

1 unsliced loaf Italian bread
1/4 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 tsp italian seasoning
1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced
4 slices fully cooked ham
10 slices salami
30 slices pepperoni
4 slices each cheddar, mozzarella and american cheese

Slice bread in half horizontally. Spread bottom half with pizza sauce; sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Top with green pepper, ham, salami, pepperoni and cheese; replace bread top. Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 425F for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.



Cheesy Potato Soup

1 medium onion, chopped
2 tbsp butter or margarine
6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
5 cups water
2 cups milk
1 can (10-3/4 oz) cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/8 tsp pepper
12 oz Velveeta, cubed
Minced fresh parsley

In a large saucepan or soup kettle, saute onion in butter. Add potatoes and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Stir in the milk, soup, garlic salt and pepper; heat through. Add cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Garnish with parsley. Makes 10 servings

Stockpile Recipes!

Since Justin and I started building our stockpile in March, we've accumulated lots of spaghetti sauce, pasta, rice and salsa. Here are 2 recipes to use when you find yourself needing to use your stockpile pile-ups!

Sausage & Spinach Fettuccine

1 pd fettuccine
1 pkg (6 oz) baby spinach leaves
1 lb italian sausage
1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Cook pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, adding spinach to the boiling water for the last minute of cooking time.
Meanwhile, brown sausage in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Drain; return to skillet. Stir in spaghetti sauce; cook 10 minutes or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
Drain pasta mixture; top with sauce and cheeses.



Cheddar Beef Enchiladas

1 pd ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 cup water
2 cups cooked rice
1 can (16 oz) refried beans
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
10-12 flour tortillas (8 inches)
1 jar (16 oz) salsa
1 can (10-3/4 oz) cream of chicken soup, undiluted

In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Stir in rice. Cook and stir until liquid is evaporated. Spread about 2 tablespoons of refried beans, 1/4 cup beef mixture and 1 tablespoon cheese down the center of each tortilla; roll up. Place seam side down in greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish.
Combine salsa and soup; pour down the center of enchiladas. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake casserole, uncovered, at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.

Crispy Onion Chicken recipe

For tonight's dinner I made Crispy Onion Chicken, recipe found in Taste of Home magazine. I also made Minute Rice's new steamers (Broccoli & cheese) found in the frozen vegetable section at your grocery store. Justin and I got these for free last month using a $1 coupon on double coupon day at Pick N Save. Super easy to make and very tasty too!

Crispy Onion Chicken-

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can (6 oz) cheddar or original french-fried onions, crushed
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves

1. In a shallow bowl, combine the butter, worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic salt and pepper. In another shallow bowl, add 1/2 cup fried onions. Dip chicken in the butter mixture, then coat with onions.
2. Place in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with remaining onions; drizzle with any remaining butter mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 35 minutes or until juices run clear.

Serves 4

Venus ProSkin Razor

Before I started serious couponing, I used to use disposable razors religiously. Specifically Venus and Schick Quattro. Even if I didn't have coupons, I would buy them because that's what I used and liked. Since becoming a more serious couponer, I've been buying what's cheap and what I have coupons for. I picked up quite a few of the new Venus ProSkin razor within the last couple of months because they have been almost free with coupons and register rewards at Walgreens. Here's my review!

Trying to get silky smooth legs like Jennifer Lopez in the commercials? Well, sorry to say ladies, this razor won't do it for you! At least it didn't do it for me. Maybe I'm just negative to the fact that this razor has a built in soap-bar that requires you to not have to use shave gel. I actually never use shave gel anyways, because it's too much of a pain in the shower. I always just used shower gel before shaving. Because of the soap-bar, the razor doesn't allow you to get a close enough shave to feel that silky smooth, like J-Lo has been talking about. And not to mention, the soap-bar dissolves everytime you use it, which only gets you about 5 shaves per cartridge. One cartridge I opened, I only got 2 shaves out of it because the soap-bar FELL off the razor!

Even though I am not a fan of this razor, I probably will still continue to buy it with coupons if it's cheap. I do like the fact that the handle allows you to use any Venus cartridge that is available on the market. Anyone have any thoughts on this razor if you have tried it? I would love to hear what you think!

Want to lose weight? Want to detox your body? Want to feel energized? Want to lower your cholesterol? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Shakeology just might be for you. Yes I know I might sound like an infomercial, but I was skeptical about it until I tried it.

My sister Britany is a BeachBody Coach in Southern California. Ever since she became a coach, she's been trying to tell me about this product and how it helps you lose weight and become healthier. And for me, getting my stubbornness from my father, I respond by telling her that I don't need a product to help me lose weight, I can do it on my own. But if a product like Shakeology can help me lose weight, and taste amazing, I might have to rethink my whole process.

Britany did convince my younger sister Ashley to purchase Shakeology. After Ashley told me how good it was and how much better she felt after she started using it, I asked her if I could have a few samples to try for myself. When I visited my family over Easter weekend, she gave me 3 samples to try. And what did I do with those samples? I threw them off to the side the second I got home and completely forgot about them. After talking with my sister Britany today and telling her I was craving ice cream, and she told me don't do it; I remembered those samples, Ashley gave me. Britany sent me recipes to make using the powder and here's what I did:

1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
about 1 cup of almond milk
a spoonful of natural peanut butter
a drizzling of honey
Mix together and blend with 4 ice cubes.

I couldn't believe how good it was! I'm not a big fan of chocolate milkshakes but the tiny bit of peanut butter I added was the key. Now you might be saying, 1 person telling me it's good, isn't going to make me go and buy it. Well I agree, I wouldn't buy it either if only 1 person told me about it. I'm writing this review simply to alert my friends about this product (because it was actually good) and to help my sister Britany, promote her business as a BeachBody Coach. Meal Plan 4/27-5/3

As most of you all know, I love to cook. I cook almost every night and decided to share my meal plans for the week! So we are not making impulse shopping trips everyday, we plan our meals a week ahead of time, so we only buy what we need for those meals. When you find yourself asking where to start, a good place to start is your local newspaper. Every Sunday (except on holiday weekends) your paper should have coupon inserts in them. Remove these inserts and find coupons for the products that you use on a regular basis. Even if you don't use a certain product, still cut out the coupon! You never know when you will come across a deal for a product you've never used, but it's a good deal with that coupon. For example, I normally wouldn't use Biore skincare products unless I had a coupon for them and I found a good deal. Well luckily I cut out 3 good coupons because last week at Walgreens, there was an awesome deal on Biore products! When you purchased 2 Biore products, on sale for $5.99 you would receive $5 in Register Rewards. Are you asking yourself what Register Rewards are now? Let me tell you! Register Rewards is like bonus cash that Walgreens gives you for purchasing certain products. For buying 2 Biore products, I got $5 to spend the next time I shopped. You have to remember though, you can't use a Register Reward to buy more of that same product. Like if you wanted to buy 2 Biore products, you got back $5 and then you wanted to use that $5 to buy more Biore products. You won't be able to use that certain Register Reward to buy more Biore Products. Now let me tell you how I got 2 Biore products for $.99! The Biore was on sale for $5.99, buy 2 products and receive $5RR. I had a coupon for Buy one Biore product, get another product for free. Here's what I did. I purchased biore pore cleansing strips and a biore face cleanser. I used my buy one, get one coupon (I also used a $2RR that I got from a previous shopping trip). I paid $3.99 for both products and got back $5! So I actually made money on this transaction because now I have an extra $5 to spend on whatever I want! Now you might be thinking, "how did she make money when she still spent $3.99?" Yes, I spent $3.99 but now I have $5 in my pocket that I didn't have before ;)
